Three fighters missed weight for ONE Fight night 26 at Thursday’s official ONE Championship weigh-ins and hydration tests in Bangkok.
Thai veteran Petchtanong Petchfergus failed to pass hydration and also came in heavy in an unofficial check for his bantamweight kickboxing bout with Nabil Anane.
Denis Puric passed hydration but was 3lbs over for his flyweight Muay Thai bout with Elias Mahmoudi, who twice failed hydration during the official three-hour window.
Mahmoudi was left needing to return and give a hydrated sample before they could negotiate a catchweight for Saturday morning’s fight at Lumpinee Stadium.
Petchtanong also had to come back to pass hydration before he could negotiate a catchweight with Nabil, who left it late but eventually came in to pass both checks on his first attempt.
Towering 20-year-old Muay Thai phenom Nabil is set to compete in his first kickboxing bout in the Asian martial arts promotion this weekend.
The other 10 bouts on the card will go ahead at their contracted weights after the fighters all hit their marks.
There were two scares earlier in the evening, with both title fights momentarily in doubt.
Danielle Kelly missed weight on her first attempt but came back to pass under the curtain, and she can now look to win back ONE’s atomweight submission grappling title from Mayssa Bastos in their rematch.
Lightweight MMA title challenger Alibeg Rasulov failed hydration on his first visit to the scale, but was on weight in an unofficial check.
He came back and made amends to ensure Saturday’s main event against champion Christian Lee – who is returning after a two-year layoff – will also go ahead.
