ONE Championship: Songchainoi eyes return to big stage on Fight Night card – or numbered event
After another win and another bonus on ONE Friday Fights, Songchainoi Kiatsongrit is ready for a return to the big stage in ONE Championship.
The 24-year-old Thai knocked out Yodnumchai Fairtex at ONE Friday Fights 92 last weekend in Bangkok, reeling off his eighth straight win in the promotion.
But despite earning a US$100,000 contract in November 2023, the atomweight Muay Thai star has only competed once on a ONE Fight Night card, in April this year.
His last two fights have been back under the ONE Lumpinee banner, and Songchainoi hopes to get another showcase on Prime Video in the US.
“Yes, if I get the opportunity, of course I would love to go back to either ONE Fight Night or the ONE numbered shows,” he told the Bangkok Post.
“I don’t really have any name for who I want next, so I can’t say, but I am waiting for ONE to offer me a new fight.”
Songchainoi also picked up a 350,000 baht bonus from ONE boss Chatri Sityodtong after his second-round finish.
“I’m very happy, it’s exceeded my expectations – I’m super on top of the world I would say,” he added.
“It’s one of my most beautiful victories. The most memorable for me would be the one I got the contract for – but this one is good too.”
