ONE Championship: Superbon vows ‘revenge’ for Tawanchai in Tokyo, as Noiri face-off ignites title unification hype
Superbon has promised to bring Thailand and his old rival Tawanchai revenge – in the heart of Tokyo.
The reigning ONE Championship featherweight kickboxing world champion came face to face with interim title-holder Masaaki Noiri at ONE Friday Fights 116 in Bangkok, with tensions rising ahead of their undisputed title showdown.
The pair will meet in the main event of ONE 173 at Ariake Arena in Japan on November 16 – and their face-off brought the crowd at Lumpinee Stadium to its feet.
“For all the fans that cheered for me just now, and told me that I should get revenge over Masaaki Noiri for Tawanchai – I will get revenge in his hometown,” Superbon said on the microphone.

The 34-year-old has suffered back-to-back losses to featherweight Muay Thai champ Tawanchai PK Saenchai in ONE Championship – first by decision in an instant classic in December 2023, and then by TKO in their ONE 170 main event at Bangkok’s Impact Arena in January.
He told the Bangkok Post last month he is determined to make it third time lucky, but first he must handle business in his own division before he can try to become a two-sport king one more time.
Noiri, meanwhile, is riding high after a stunning victory at ONE 172 in March, where he stopped Tawanchai in the third round with a barrage of punches to claim the interim belt.
“I’m going to fight the best in the world, Superbon,” the 32-year-old said. “I have a belt, but this is the interim champion belt. So I will beat the best in the world and be the champion of this division.”

Their brief but intense confrontation at Lumpinee – immediately following a fight in which both men had a vested interest – has only added to the intrigue.
Superbon had moments before cornered his longtime friend and training partner Petchtanong against Yuki Yoza, while Noiri entered alongside his Vasileus teammate – as the two gyms went head to head.
Yoza had emerged victorious by unanimous decision in a thrilling bantamweight kickboxing bout, but the biggest fireworks came after the final bell – with ONE 173 now firmly circled on the calendar.
