Teerasil Dangda scored the decisive goal as BG Pathum United picked up their first victory in the Asean Club Championship (Shopee Cup) following a 2-1 win over Cambodia's PKR Svay Rieng in Group A on Wednesday night.
Raniel Santana opened the scoring for BG Pathum in the 31st minute before Pablo equalised for Svay Rieng shortly after an hour.
Teerasil proved the hero moments later with an assist from Chanathip Songkrasin as the Rabbits secured all three points.
"It was a difficult game for our team because one of our players was injured from the beginning of the match and we just had a game on Sunday," said BG Pathum coach Makoto Teguramori.
"After we were one goal up, Svay Rieng did well but still lacked the accuracy during the first half. However after we conceded, we went back in front very quickly which was good."
BG Pathum will host Dong A Thanh Hoa FC of Vietnam in the third match of the campaign on Jan 8, while Svay Rieng will take on Indonesia's PSM Makassar in Phnom Penh.
